Elza makes her unique ceramics pieces with organic shapes in studio in London. In the series called 'In the search for the sea' she recreates the feeling of the presence of the majestic landscape she grew up, the shapes, rhythm and dynamics of seascape. Each piece is made by hand using stoneware and porcelain clay which is then decorated with unique manipulation of clay. This process is inspired by the sea with its crushing waves.
Elza also makes vessels inspired by people. Like people, all pieces are unique. Like people, vessels have got a different shape, colour and size. All of them have the same, similar feature – a dimple and/or a belly button. Aside from that, every single vessel can be filled with. Like people are vessels for experiences, feelings and emotions in life. Each of these have got a different capacity. Vessels can be displayed as a group, family or installation which can be extended.
